It’s called the Sunshine List, presumably because it shines light on how many public servants in Ontario are paid more than $100,000 a year.
Or perhaps the popular phrase for what is officially called the “Public Sector Salary Disclosure” refers to the sunshiny life these higher-than-average earners lead.
In all, 2,247 public servants in the city of Ottawa made more than $100,000 — of those, 1,079 are with police services.
Here’s what the municipality’s top earners — and some of city’s leaders — made in 2014:
Kent Kirkpatrick, city manager: $341,273.58
Dr. Isra Levy, medical officer of health: $324,154.73
Steve Kanellakos, deputy city manager: $309,399.76
Charles Bordeleau, chief of police: $274,475.20
Nancy Schepers, deputy city manager: $263,189.95
Dr. Carolyn Pim, associate medical officer of health: $256,030.27
Dr. Rosamund Lewis, assoc. medical officer of health: $247,556.29
Dr. Vera Etches, deputy medical officer of health: $240,800.98
John Manconi, GM OC Transpo: $234,552.68
Dr. Aaron Burry, GM community and social service, dental officer of health: $215,381.13
Ed Keeley, deputy police chief: $225,753.62
Rick O’Connor, city clerk and solicitor: $203.959.55
Marian Simulik, city treasurer: $202,017.07
Dan Chenier, GM park, recreation and cultural services: $199,754.32
Marc Laframboise, fire department lieutenant: $180,811.20
John DeHooge, fire chief (retired): $179,934.90
Jim Watson, mayor: $168,102.48
