An argument on a downtown street turned violent Tuesday night and left a man in hospital with what police describe as serious, though not life-threatening, injuries.
Police say a group of people attacked one man about 8 p.m. on Rideau Street in the area of the McDonald’s restaurant.
By Wednesday morning police had not yet interviewed the man, who has been admitted to hospital.
They don’t know what the argument was about and are also looking for anyone with information that could help identify the attackers. Witnesses are asked to call (613) 236-1222, extension 5212.
Rideau Street was closed to traffic for part of Tuesday evening after the attack.
