Ottawa firefighters quickly put out what had appeared to be a dangerous blaze at a seniors residence at 465 Richmond Rd early Tuesday afternoon.
The department received a number of 911 calls reporting flames at the building shoertly after noon.
Firefighters arriving at the scene confirmed flames and black smoke from a 14th floor unit and called in a second alarm.
The fire qas quickly brought under control and personnel remained on the scene as a precaution.
There were no injuries.
A fire investigator is en route and the cause and damage estimates of the blaze are not available.
