Ottawa police are investigating after a man attempted to rob a convenience store on Greenbank Road last month, but left empty-handed when the clerk working at the store fled the premises.
According to police, a man entered a convenience store in the 200 block of Greenbank Road at about 8:40 p.m. on Mar. 18.
The man produced a knife and demanded cash from the clerk.
But instead of providing the cash as demanded, the frightened employee fled the scene leaving the suspect without access to the register. As a result, the suspect then also fled the store empty-handed.
There were no injuries.
The man is described as a Caucasian male, six-feet-two-inches (188cm) tall, with a thin build. At the time he was wearing a blue jacket, black tuque, dark pants and tan boots.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Ottawa police at 613-236-1222 ext. 5116.
