Canon 300D announced - rumor become reality

Get very excited first but then after reading the 300D manual and some posts on dpreview, it seems that 300D have some serious limitation, among which are most concerns to me are:

1. no way to choose continous focus vs. single focus. It's always set automatically.

2. no way to set metering mode as it's fixed most of the time to evaluative.

Looks like 300D is not a perfect choice either, although the price is very attactive compared with 10D.

The canadian price is again ridiculous. If I can pay $1900 for 300D, I may as well add 300 bucks to get a 10D instead. Such pricing force us to buy from US.

Sean: what kind of delivery used by Ritz ? UPS, FEDEX, USPS ?

Thanks, Sean. Not surprise they use Canada post. I guess you still need to PST/GST + $5.

You know what, Ritz already start accepting 300D order. I just have to wait a bit longer to see the reviews of this camera and then decide.

One more question, does Canon Canada cover warranty of camera if bought in US ?

Thanks for your info. I dealt with Galaxy photos in two occassions and generally speaking, I'm happy with their price and services. I called them a while back asking about 10D (body only) and the best price I can get is around $2350 + tax.
