A 25-year-old Ottawa man is in custody after allegedly fleeing from Ontario Provincial Police early Saturday morning.
The OPP said that officers from the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry detachment tried to stop a pickup truck shortly after 2 a.m. on Sixth Line in Roxborough Township for “criminal offences”.
Police said the driver didn’t stop, but instead took off with officers in pursuit. Police say the truck then left the road and rolled.
The man was arrested and taken to hospital with “moderate injuries”, and remains in custody.
The OPP says the Special Investigations Unit, which investigates incidents of serious injury, sexual assault or death involving police, has invoked its mandate to investigate.
