Compliance complaints filed against three councillors over election finances

An Ottawa resident has requested election compliance audits of the 2014 campaign finances of three city councillors. Pat Ready filed complaints against councillors Riley Brockington, Shad Qadri and Mark Taylor. The city’s compliance audit committee (struck last year as prescribed by provincial election rules) must meet within 30 days — in this case, July 16 — to decide whether to recommend that the audits be undertaken. The committee does not decide whether there was any wrongdoing on the part of councillors.
