Ottawa paramedics confirmed late Wednesday night that a 32-year-old man had suffered second-degree burns from home fireworks on Atkins Street and was taken to hospital.
He was burned on the lower legs near the ankles. Paramedics said second-degree burns are more painful than third- degree burns because the latter burns the nerve endings so the injured person doesn’t feel the pain.
