A young woman suffered serious injuries after she fell from a balcony shortly before 3 a.m. on Sunday morning, Ottawa paramedics said.
The 19-year-old unidentified woman fell from a fourth floor balcony, about 15 metres, in a residential building at 2535 Othello Ave. at Pleasant Park Road. Paramedics said she was found at the bottom of a loading dock when they arrived, suffering from head and abdominal injuries and an open, fractured femur.
Paramedics transported her to the hospital with critical injuries. Ottawa police, who are investigating the incident but did not immediately suspect foul play, said Sunday morning the woman is expected to survive her injuries.
