Firefighters rescue 58-year-old woman from car after collision with tow truck

Emergency crews rescued a woman from her vehicle Friday after a collision at the intersection of Innes Road and the Blackburn Hamlet bypass.

Firefighters and paramedics responded to a collision between a car and a tow truck shortly after 6 p.m. and found a 58-year-old woman trapped inside her car. Firefighters extricated the driver from her vehicle and she was treated by Ottawa paramedics.

Paramedics said they treated the woman for left-side chest, pelvis and leg injuries. The tow truck driver was not injured.

Ottawa police were investigating the incident.
