Ottawa police are asking the public for help finding a 15-year-old girl who went missing Wednesday morning.
Oleesia Akesuk was last seen in the Gatineau area of Rue Laurier and Boulevard des Allumettières, according to police. Her family is concerned for her well-being.
Police describe her as an Inuit girl, 5-4 and 117 pounds, medium build, with brown eyes, eyeglasses and long, straight, black hair. Police say she has burn scars on her arms and shoulders, and would be carrying a black-and-white over-the-shoulder cloth purse.
Anyone who knows the girl’s location should contact Ottawa police dispatch at 613-230-6211. Those with other information that could assist investigators may contact the missing persons unit at 613-236-1222 x2355, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
