Two children riding bicycles were injured after they were struck by a vehicle Thursday morning.
The children — ages five and six — were riding bicycles near Dorchester Avenue and Silver Street shortly before 8 a.m.
Paramedics said the mother was on a tandem bike with the five-year-old girl and the six-year-old boy was on his own bike.
The girl complained of pain to her left shoulder and lower back. Paramedics said the boy had cuts to his left hand, nose and right knee. The mother wasn’t injured, paramedics said.
Both children, who were wearing helmets, were immobilized by paramedics as a precaution and taken to hospital in stable condition.
Ottawa police are investigating.
