Ontario Provincial Police charged a pair of Kemptville-area teenagers Thursday in connection with several break-ins after a traffic stop earlier in the week led to their arrest.

In the initial traffic stop, shortly after midnight Tuesday, police found the driver in possession of a set of brass knuckles. A further search of the car led to a bolt for a long gun, ammunition and jewellery.

Christopher Daniel MacGillivray, 19, faces four counts of break-and-enter.

A 17-year-old, who cannot be named under the Young Offenders’ Act, was charged with a long list of break-and-enter charges including theft of a firearm, possession of property by crime under $5,000 and possession of a prohibited device or ammunition.

The charges were related to three break-ins and another four intended break-ins in Merrickville, Kemptville and North Grenville.

Additionally, both teens were charged with two break and enters at Loughlin Motors in North Dundas, an attempted B&E at Nationview Public School in Mountain, and a break and enter at Lazarus House in South Mountain.
