Ontario police have charged a North Dundas woman with careless driving after a man was killed in a head-on two-car collision in February.
Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry OPP officers responded to a collision between two SUVs in North Dundas Township shortly after 9 a.m. on Feb. 24.
Police say Peter Remillard, 62, of South Dundas Township, was driving northbound on County Rd. 7 in a BMW and a woman was driving southbound in a Dodge when they collided.
Both drivers were transported to hospital, where Remillard was pronounced dead. The other driver suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries. There were no passengers in either vehicle.
Police say the reason for the head-on collision is still under investigation.
The driver of the Dodge SUV, Catriona Kirkwood, 40, of North Dundas Township, has been charged with careless driving. She’s scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on Aug. 18.
