Police and fire officers in Gatineau continue to investigate an early morning blaze that destroyed an abandoned building in the Hull sector.
Firefighters were called to the older eight-unit apartment structure at Amherst and Lois streets shortly after 3 a.m. and found the fire fully engaged.
There were concerns for residents in neighbouring buildings that abut the structure. The residents were temporarily removed from their homes and the buildings were drenched along with the building on fire.
Residents were later allowed to return to their homes.
There were no injuries and damage was estimated at $368,700. The cause remains under investigations.
