A new lighting system for a football field in Orléans is among three projects in Ottawa’s east end that will receive a combined $550,000 from the government of Canada.
The funding from the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program will also allow the paving of a pathway from Tenth Line Road to Trim Road and help the Ottawa Little Theatre improve accessibility and replace its auditorium seating.
The funds will be split among the three projects, with $176,000 dedicated to paving the pathway, $159,000 going to the Ottawa Little Theatre and $220,000 being earmarked to help light a football field in Orléans. The site for the lighting has not yet been chosen but will be finalized by fall, with installation to be completed no later than March 2018.
The Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program was established to rehabilitate buildings and infrastructure for Canada’s upcoming 150th anniversary.
