Ottawa firefighters were tackling a duplex fire Tuesday evening on Ottawa’s far eastern boundary near Innes and Trim roads.
The house at 2331 Glandriel Crescent was fully involved when crews arrived shortly after callers phoned in the alarm at about 7 p.m.
One witness, Isaac Chenier, who was driving by on Trim Road when he saw the black smoke, described that blaze as “a roaring fire with smoke spewing out of every crevasse.”
By 7:15 p.m. firefighters extinguished the garage fire, but the roof continued to burn.
Two people reportedly fled the house. There were no reports of injuries.
