A man in his late 20s was rushed to the Civic hospital Sunday evening after being seriously wounded in what appears to be Ottawa’s 22nd shooting of the year.
Police were called to the Brookfield area around 8 p.m. after receiving a report that a man had been shot. As of 9 p.m., police were not releasing details of the incident beyond acknowledging that it had occurred.
However, unconfirmed reports describe the man as 27 years old. He was apparently shot in the chest.
This apparent shooting follows a mid-July shooting near Coventry Road and Vanier Parkway in which a man, reportedly in his late 20s, was shot twice, although not fatally.
