A 38-year-old man was taken to hospital with head injuries after a construction accident Monday on Woodroffe Avenue, Ottawa paramedics said.
The man was struck in the head by the bucket of a backhoe and received first aid from coworkers as well as lifeguards from the nearby Nepean Sportsplex before emergency crews arrived. He was brought to hospital in stable condition.
The Ontario Ministry of Labour is investigating the accident.
