The NDP in Nepean have their candidate.
Playwright, artist, activist and professional fundraiser Sean Devine was chosen as their candidate for the new riding that largely covers Barrhaven and Bells Corners at a nomination meeting Tuesday night at the Walter Baker Centre.
Devine, who is the co-founder and artistic director of award-winning theatre company Horseshoes and Hand Grenades, beat out union negotiator Denise Doherty-Delorme for the nomination.
Devine joins Conservative Andy Wang, Liberal Chandra Arya and Green Jean-Luc Cooke as the candidates seeking to be elected on Oct. 19.
Devine lives in Nepean with his wife and three children.
