Gatineau police are investigating a suspicious fire that destroyed a tanning salon on the second floor of a two-storey building Sunday night, causing around $1 million in damage.
When firefighters arrived at the commercial building at 151 Gréber Blvd. around 10:13 p.m., the tanning salon was engulfed in flames.
The aggressive blaze that firefighters were battling until 3:20 a.m. caused a small explosion that blew out part of the tanning salon’s outer wall.
Shops located below and adjacent to the tanning salon suffered smoke and water damage.
Police and fire officials were on the scene Monday morning to investigate the cause.
