Bob Mackin is a North Vancouver-based blogger and journalist who has reported for local, regional, national and international media outlets since he began as a journalist in 1990. He occasionally contributes to Business In Vancouver[1] and is a regular guest on The Sport Market on Team 1040 Radio in Vancouver.

Mackin is known as an independent reporter on the sports and political scene in British Columbia.

He has led in the reporting of the BC Government's plan to sell the British Columbia Liquour Distribution Branch to private interests with ties to the ruling BC Liberal Party in 2012.[2] Has also led on the reporting on issues surrounding PAVCO, the crown corporation responsible for BC Place Stadium. On February 19, 2013, the Official Opposition questioned the BC Government why PAVCO had requested that Mackin's Freedom of Information requests be blocked.[3][4]

He is the author of Red Mittens and Red Ink a profile of the expense, failures and success of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver.[5]

From 1998 to 2008, Mackin was the sports columnist for The Vancouver Courier. During this time, he also wrote for a number of other Vancouver publications including Vancouver 24 Hours and The Tyee.

He has worked close to home and far abroad: his writing has taken him to Brazil, China, Ireland, Italy, Mongolia, Russia, Sweden, Taiwan and Tanzania. Bob's work has appeared in a variety of publications, including the Vancouver Province newspaper, Adventure Sports Magazine and The New York Times. He is the author of four books, and won the 2006 B.C. and Yukon Community Newspapers’ best sports writing award for an investigation into sports gambling in British Columbia for the Courier.

没有听到任何理性的对话,只有看到躲避和暴力推拉。

常常听到狗仔队的说法,印象中是打听名人隐私的记者。在竞选过程中在公共场合询问竞选负责人有关政治活动的记者是狗仔?这好像是第一次听说。

如果记者的采访权不能被保障,如果保障民众的知情权?
