Anyone has experience with fingerprint for applying Citizenship? How long it would take?

I have never heard that finger-prints are mandatory for citizenship application. Can you detail this pls?

Fingerprint is not mandatory for citizenship application. It is just for the criminal checking if your name and birthday could be same as someone else. It will delay the case process.

BTW, 19 months is the time for you to get Oath Ceremony since application sent out?

How do you know that your name and birthday are the same as others? Does that mean only in this case, the government will inform you to do fingerprint and others without this situation don't have to? Can you volunteerly do that to reduce your process time? By the way, what is the content of background investigation? Does it happen to everyone?

据说广东、福建来的背景调查长很多。有朋友夫妻俩不同时申请，男的需要手印，女的不用结果后递表反而早几个月通过了。本人也被要求按手指模，花了$20不说，都一年零三个月了都还没通知考试呢。

13个月后，寄来了一封信，要求提供指模，并告我事后会销毁云云。

可不可以事先做了,因为要回国,还是必须等接到通知才可以去做.
