McArthur Avenue is closed between Olmstead Avenue and Allen Boulevard after a fire broke out in a building early Saturday, causing around $450,000 in damages.
Shortly after 3 a.m., Ottawa Fire received a 911 call reporting smoke coming from a three-storey, mixed-use building at 257 McArthur Ave.
When crews arrived, smoke was visible in the building.
Officials say the fire started in the basement and extended into the upper floors.
The fire was under control by 4:44 a.m.
There are no reported injuries and victim assistance was not required.
Police and an investigator are on the scene. The cause is not yet known.
