The Ottawa chapter of Mother’s Against Drunk Driving launched its annual red ribbon campaign at police headquarters on Thursday.
Those who wear a red ribbon take the pledge to drive sober and never to ride with a drunk driver.
“Its preventablem so just plan ahead,” said chapter president Kathy Gagnier. “You won’t be out on the roads and inadvertently kill someone by making the wrong choice.”
Red ribbons were tied to Ottawa police, fire, paramedic, military police, OPP, RCMP and Gatineau police vehicles.
