Emergency crews were on the scene Wednesday morning at a water main break near the intersection of Pleasant Park Road and Arch Street.
Police said Pleasant Park Road is closed in both directions and commuters are asked to find alternative routes.
The street is near a city run recreation facility as well as a public school. It is also close to Canterbury High School.
There was no immediate word on when the break would be fixed.
