Gatineau police have teamed up with services across Québec to reduce impaired driving during the holidays.
From Thursday to Jan. 3, Gatineau police, Sûreté du Québec and MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais will conduct roadside checks as part of what they call a national response to crack down on impaired driving in Québec.
Gatineau police said in a news release that impaired driving in Québec is the leading cause of fatal crashes.
The holiday impaired driving crackdown is organized by the Association of Chiefs of Police of Quebec, Sûreté du Québec, Montreal police and Quebec’s auto insurance association.
