The Gatineau Police Service is asking for public assistance in their investigation of a number of arsons in the Jardins Lavigne park area of Aylmer over the past two years.
Police say that, since 2013, 10 arsons have occurred in area, near the intersection of Des Allumettières and Wilfrid-Lavigne boulevards. While damage to fences, vehicles and other private property is common, there have been no injuries reported.
Police will be canvassing the area on Friday between 1:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. in hopes of collecting any information. Police are asking residents to share any information they may have, noting that even something residents might consider a “mundane detail” could be important.
In addition, anyone with possible information on the arsons is asked to contact police at 819-243-4636.
