The Outaouais regional anti-gang squad has arrested three people, including a 77-year-old woman in a series of raids in Gatineau and Cantley.

Police said the case began on Dec. 1 when a car under surveillance was intercepted in the parking lot of a Gréber Boulevard business in Gatineau. The driver was arrested and police said a search of the vehicle turned up narcotics.

Later that day, the Gatineau police gang unit, assisted by officers from the MRC des Collines and the Sûreté du Québec canine unit raided a home at at 853 Montée de la Source in Cantley. Police say they found narcotics and a handgun at the residence and arrested a 77-year-old woman and a 34-year-old man.

The two investigations netted a loaded 22-calibre revolver, about 2.1 kilograms of marijuana, 41 grams of cocaine and $1,845 in cash.

Charged with possession of a prohibited firearm, careless storage of a firearm, possession of narcotics, and possession of property obtained through crime are Steve Haché, 45, and Eric Danis, 34, both of Cantley.

The 77-year-old woman arrested was not identified and was released on a promise to appear in court at a later date.
