There were no injuries after a balcony fire at a Strathmore Boulevard home was quickly extinguished early Sunday.
Ottawa Fire received a 911 call from a homeowner reporting an audible alarm and smoke visible from the exterior of the house at 2102 Strathmore Blvd.
When firefighters arrived, smoke was showing from the eaves of the single-storey detached home.
They worked to quell the fire, which originated from the balcony and had extended to the exterior wall.
The fire was stopped quickly and did not extend to the interior of the home. Smoke from the interior was ventilated.
There were no civilian or firefighter injuries, and no one will be displaced.
Damage is estimated at $50,000 to the building only.
