JANUARY 24: Dog sled teams from Nordik Adventures offered people rides during the Winter Celebration at Rideau Hall.

FEBRUARY 19: An Ottawa Paramedic examines a man lying on the road after the car he was travelling in collided with an OC Transpo bus on the Transitway at Laurier and Nicholas near the University of Ottawa. At least two people were transported to hospital after the accident.

MARCH 1: Protesters gather in front of the Citizenship and Immigration building on Laurier Avenue, complaining that delays in processing inland spousal sponsorships have left more than 10,000 families in Canada in limbo for more than two years without work, health care or immigration status.

APRIL 14: Senator Mike Duffy is surrounded by media after he leaves court at the end of day six in his trial, charged with 31 counts of fraud, breach of trust and bribery.

MAY 8: Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne and other local MPs attended at commemorative ceremony at the National War Memorial in honour of the 70th anniversary of VE Day. About 40 World War II veterans were also in attendance and driven up Elgin Street to the war memorial in period military vehicles.

OCTOBER 20: Prime Minister-designate Justin Trudeau was welcomed to Ottawa with hundreds of supporters and newly-elected Liberal MPs at the Westin Hotel.

OCTOBER 22: Justin Trudeau shakes hands with Stephen Harper with Laureen Harper in between during a memorial service at the National War Memorial, as Canada marks the one-year anniversary of the Oct. 22, 2014 attacks on Parliament Hill and at the Cenotaph. The event honoured the sacrifices of Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent and Corporal Nathan Cirillo, and the bravery of the first responders.
