The fog that has descended on parts of Ontario and Quebec is causing some delays for flights leaving from Ottawa International Airport.
A result of unseasonably warm weather, the fog is primarily slowing flights between Ottawa, Montreal and Toronto, said airport spokeswoman Krista Kealey. She urged travellers to check the status of their flight before leaving for the airport.
The fog was expected to lift as temperatures rise, which should allow the airlines to resume their regular schedule.
The delays come on what is expected to be the third-busiest day of the year at the airport as people travel before Christmas to be with their families. Last Friday was the busiest so far, and Saturday ranked second, according to Kealey.
