Multiple emergency calls brought firefighters to an “extensive blaze” at a building at the intersections of Richmond Road and Roosevelt Avenue.

The fire, which the fire department said was later reported to have jumped to a second building, brought down hydro lines in the area. No injuries were reported.

Firefighters were kept busy overnight as fires broke out in other parts of the city, too.

Seven people, five adults and two children, are out of a home after a fire broke out in the basement of a home on Sandcliffe Terrance. No injuries were reported in the fire, which was called in at 1:29 a.m. A fire investigator has been dispatched.

On Monday night, firefighters responded to a dumpster fire within the garbage room of a high rise building at 280 Rochester St. No injuries were reported, and no damage estimate was available. Later on, shortly after 2 a.m., firefighters responded to a second dumpster fire in the underground parking garage of 2834 Sandalwood Dr. No damage estimate was available, and no injuries were reported.
