Ottawa police are asking for help to identify two suspects involved in a violent home invasion near Arnprior on Tuesday, Jan. 5.
Police said that a man in his 60s was alone in his home near the intersection of Upper Dwyer Hill Road and Ritchie Side Road at about 8 p.m., when there was a knock at the door.
When he answered, two suspects rushed in, knocking him to the ground.
The homeowner was held down and the assailants hit him on the head repeatedly. The attackers then took a number of items, including keepsakes from the victim’s deceased spouse.
The homeowner was transported to hospital with serious injuries. He has since been released, however continues to undergo assessment and treatment for the injuries he sustained.
Investigators do not believe this was a random attack.
The suspects are described as men, dressed in black, between 20 and 35 years old, approximately five feet eight inches to five feet 10 inches tall.
