A 49-year-old Ottawa man was to appear in court Wednesday on a number of charges in connection with a pair of knife-point gas station holdups over the weekend.
On Saturday at about 7:25 a.m., a man went to a gas station in the 1400 block of Woodroffe Avenue and pulled a knife, demanding cash and cigarettes. He was handed an undisclosed amount of both and fled. There were no injuries.
About six hours later, a man armed with a knife walked into a gas station in the 100 block of Eagleson Road and demanded cash, smokes and lottery tickets. Again, he was handed an undisclosed amount of each and he fled. There were no injuries.
On Tuesday, police arrested Stuart Gatt and charged him with two counts each of robbery and possession of a weapon, and one count of wearing a disguise.
