Ottawa man, 25, faces long list of charges in four holdups

A 25-year-old Ottawa man faces a raft of charges in connection with four robberies, two at motels and two at banks, earlier this year.

Police said Brad Pearce has been charged with six counts of robbery, and four counts each for wearing a disguise, using an imitation firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon and uttering threats, as well as one count of possession of property obtained by crime.

On Sept. 24, a man entered the office of a motel on Michael Street with what looked like a handgun and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. Hours later, but the next day, a robber with what looked like a handgun hit another motel on the 200 block of Hearst Way in Kanata. He fled with an undisclosed quantity of money.

The first bank robbery occurred Sept. 29, when a man wearing a disguise entered a bank in the 700 block of Baseline Road, brandishing what appeared to be a handgun. He fled with an undisclosed amont of cash.

On Oct. 7, a man pulled a gun in a bank on Terry Fox Drive, near Campeau Drive, carrying what appeared to be a handgun. He fled with an undisclosed amount of money.

There were no injuries.

Pearce is in custody in Quebec on an unrelated case and is scheduled to appear in Ottawa court Nov. 18.
