School buses in Ottawa and most surrounding counties on both side of the river have been cancelled Wednesday as a freezing rain storm hit the capital.
All schools remain open.
Traffic on the Queensway and main arteries was slow under the slippery conditions.
OPP reported no major accidents but warned drivers to use extreme caution.
About two dozen arrivals or departures have been delayed or cancelled at Ottawa International Airport so far Wednesday and officials urge travellers to check their carriers.
Environment Canada is forecasting continued freezing rain mixed with ice pellets changing to rain this morning.
The high is expected to hit 8 C through the day.
Tonight is expected to be mainly cloudy with 40-per-cent chance of rain showers or flurries and a low of 1 C.
