British talk show host personality Piers Morgan has announced on Twitter that he will donate $5,000 to the Ottawa Hospital in honour of World Cancer Day.
Morgan made the announcement Thursday after an Ottawa woman tweeted at Morgan that the Ottawa Hospital had saved her life.
Morgan, who has more than 4.8 million Twitter followers, is donating about $100,000 to a number of cancer charities in his native United Kingdom.
The journalist and TV host deflected the Ottawa Hospital’s thank you tweet for the donation.
