Two people were taken to hospital Saturday morning, one in critical condition, after their van rolled several times on Highway 174 near Montreal Road.
The single-vehicle crash happened at around 9:45 a.m. in the westbound lanes, approximately 500 metres from the exit.
The van’s two occupants were trapped inside the vehicle when firefighters and paramedics arrived on the scene.
Within minutes, the 61-year-old man and 60-year-old woman were both extricated from the vehicle and taken to hospital.
The man was in critical condition, while the woman had minor injuries, said Marc-André Da Ponti of the Ottawa Paramedics Service.
Ottawa police shut down Highway 174 in both directions between Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard and Montreal Road following the crash.
