Servers were getting prepared with corsets, face paint and feather boas as the New Orleans-style establishment, “Fat Tuesday’s” in the Byward Market celebrated Mardi Gras with a full evening of entertainment, including plenty of beads, masks and a fortune teller. The Ottawa bar is named after the annual celebration which marks the beginning of the Christian observance of Lent starting with Ash Wednesday.
