老实说 我也不知道 为什么 Switch 为什么 不如hub 表现好， 但是事实上如此

HUB工作在一个广播域，SWITCH在不同广播域。

my guess is, for this small network, collision doesn't happen that much.

what switch does is, store and forward, so some delay there..

For a big network, collisions can slow everything down.

用sygate 根本不需要2块网卡

sygate 软件本身就支持 虚拟ip ...
再说不虚拟ip 一块 就足够了

我在sygate office version 上面 安装过

Wingate 也正常

Winroute也正常

一块网卡 足够了

我刚在sygate网站上找到的，不过他没说关于Cable的问题：
If you are using Sygate?Office Network or Sygate?Home Network version 3.x, then our software will send data from one adapter to another adapter, requiring two network devices.

If you are using Sygate?Office Network or Sygate?Home Network version 4.x, then you have another option where you can use Sygate single NIC technology. Single NIC is made possible by creating a virtual NIC within system. While the installed ethernet adapter is connected to the modem via a hub or switch, the virtual NIC is used to communicate with the other computers in the LAN.

Note: If are using DSL with PPPoE software, then only 1 NIC is required. The PPPoE software will either emulate another adapter or dialup connection

I read your post about using Hub to share Roger cable, i.e.

我用的就是Rogers, 不过没有人愿意和我share,所以我没有这方面的经验
不过我同学的cable 是连在hub 然后5台机器连在hub上，不做任何配置，只是dhcp而且都有自己的ip
爽呀 1个人才8块钱 ...

Would you confirm that it can use Hub to share Roger cable without router, what I concern does it need a router or not?
