A Gatineau man required the help of a neighbour to pry away an attacking dog late Monday night after a play session with his friend’s pet turned nasty.
Police said the man was alone in his friend’s home at 122 Rue Saint Jacques Monday night, playing with the animal which attacked without warning.
The victims’s cries for help alerted a neighbour who assisted in getting the dog to release the man.
The pair called an ambulance, which transported the victim to hospital with minor injuries. Police attended the scene, but the victim has refused to press charges and as a result the police investigation has been closed.
The Gatineau SPCA has taken the dog into custody where it is now being held in quarantine.
The SPCA has not yet decided whether to bring bylaw charges against the owner of the animal.
