Firefighters were able to put out a basement fire in a semi-detached home on Overbrook before it spread to the rest of residence.
The broke out at 311 Prince Albert St. a little before 7:30 a.m. and was declared under control before 8:30 a.m. A photo from the scene by Ottawa Fire shows a small amount of smoke still coming from the building while firefighters are inside.
Police closed Prince Albert from Lola Street to Frances Street and also Naughton Street from Presland Road to Queen Mary Street.
