You may still need those winter tires, Environment Canada says in a special alert for the capital.
They’re expecting snow — five to 10 centimetres of it from Tuesday night through Wednesday. But the amounts for individual places are still considered “uncertain.”
The details: “A low pressure system is expected to bring significant snowfall to the area beginning overnight tonight and continues into Wednesday. Snow is expected to be heavy at times on Wednesday.
“Current indications suggest possible snowfall accumulation of 5 to 10 cm by Wednesday evening. There is still some uncertainty regarding the exact location of the heaviest snow. Environment Canada will continue to closely monitor this developing situation and warnings may be issued as the details become more certain.”
The area from Toronto west has had significant snow since the weekend.
