The Ottawa Police Service’s arson unit has charged an Ottawa man after officials were called to investigate two fires at a Sandy Hill address over the past four months.
According to police, emergency services were called to 320 Willings Pr. on January 2 and then a second time on March 28. In the first call, police and firefighters arrived to find a large carpet on fire outside of the building. The second time, emergency responders were able to quickly contain a blaze on the building’s third floor.
No one was injured in either case, but both were deemed to be suspicious.
Saeed Mohamed of Ottawa, 33, faces two charges of arson: disregard for life.
He is scheduled to appear in an Ottawa court Wednesday.
