The provincial Special Investigations Unit has been called in to investigate after a man was found dead in a Bancroft home Monday after police executed a search warrant on the property.
According to the Ontario Provincial Police, a warrant was executed at the home in an attempt to catch a man wanted in connection with an earlier incident.
When officers entered the residence in Bancroft, about 220 kilometres west of Ottawa, they found the victim.
The SIU is called in to investigate situations involving police operations where there has been a death.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
