A 36-year-old Gatineau man has surrendered to police and charged with dangerous driving causing death following a nine-month investigation into a southern Ontario collision that killed a 16-month-old baby from Gatineau.
The two-car collision occurred July 15, 2015 on Highway 401 near Port Hope, between Belleville and Toronto.
In addition to the child victim, several occupants of both vehicles were seriously injured in the crash.
Police said Ach-Ary Alhabo, 36, of Gatineau, surrendered at the Ottawa OPP detachment on Thursday.
He was released from custody and is to appear in Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on June 29.
