About 60 people gathered in a blistering wind Sunday at the RCAF Monument in Orléans to mark the 60th anniversary of the 445 Squadron’s plane accident of May 15, 1956. On that day, a CF-100 plane suffered a malfunction and crashed into the Villa St-Louis — the rest home of the Sisters of Charity in Ottawa— killing 11 nuns, their Chaplin, a kitchen worker and the two-man crew.
