Cyclist in critical condition after collision with garbage truck

An older man is in critical condition in hospital after a collision between his bicycle and a garbage truck in Kanata.

Paramedics said the man was cycling a little after 7 a.m. near Kanata Avenue and Knudson Drive. The man received head and extremity injuries.

The man’s exact age wasn’t available, but paramedics say he is “elderly.” Ottawa Police are investigating.
