Ottawa - The City of Ottawa, in partnership with Bell, will honour seven young residents for their quick thinking, bravery and good judgment during emergency situations at the 18th annual 9-1-1 Children’s Achievement Awards.
Mayor Jim Watson and Councillor Diane Deans, Chair of the Community and Protective Services Committee, will be joined by City Councillors Jean Cloutier, Michael Qaqish, Bob Monette, Keith Egli, Jody Mitic and Marianne Wilkinson to present the awards.
Date: Monday, June 6
Time: 10:30 a.m.
Photo opportunity at 11 a.m.
Location: Andrew S. Haydon Hall, Ottawa City Hall
110 Laurier Avenue West
The award recognizes youth ages 12 and under who effectively used 9-1-1 in a crisis. Also participating in the award ceremony is Sandy McDonald, Regional Director of Community Affairs for Bell, and representatives from By-law and Regulatory Services, OC Transpo, Ottawa Fire Services, Ottawa Paramedic Service and Ottawa Police Service.
